Description: Development of clean technologies and the renewable energy sector will continue to accelerate as the world looks for ways to reduce carbon emissions and end dependence on fossil fuels.
Why Australia and San Diego?
Australia and San Diego are both committed to the development of clean technologies and renewable energy. There are many synergies and opportunities for collaboration and parntership between Australia and San Diego.
The Australian Trade Commisssion and CleanTECH San Diego have partnered to present an early evening panel and networking event that will provide an opportunity to hear about the developments and opportunities in Australia and San Diego, as well as meet with clean tech industry professionals, researchers and investors. The event will also focus on the emerging San Diego based cluster in alge biofuels, similar developments in Australia and how our companies and researchers can collaborate.

- Second Generation Biofuels Research and Development Porgram
- Australian Centre for Renewable Energy (ACRE)
- Green Car Innovation Fund
- Solar and Carbon Capture Storage Flagship Programs
San Diego has excellent credentials as a hub of clean technology innovation including:
- 625+ clean technology companies
- Recognition as an innovation center for algae biofuels
- Academic and research facilities dedicated to the development of clean technology and renewable fuels
- Leadhsip position as the dominant "Solar City" in the US
The panel discussion of Australian and US experts will highlight industry developments, challenges and opportunities, with the objective of raising Australia's profile as a natural partner with the US in the development of new clean tech research, development and commercialization.
