OVERALL EVENT DESCRIPTION

An opportunity to profile Australian Innovation and Investment potential to US business and industry executives. The event will include four separate but interrelated sessions—morning, luncheon, afternoon and end-of-day networking. Open Forum and Keynote Address

Explore through a vibrant Open Forum and Case Studies how other senior R&D executives from US
companies have worked successfully within the Australian innovation system. To understand more about this unique environment, the session will include a Keynote Address focussing on how Australia’s innovation system has produced extraordinary results and a presentation discussing Research and Business collaboration within Australia’s National Science Agency.

The Luncheon will include a panel moderated by Ms. Reena Jana, Business Week Innovation Department Editor. Marc Newson, Qantas’ Creative Director & 2006 Designer of the Year
Marc Newson is one of the most influential designers in the world today. His association with Qantas began with the design of the award winning Skybed Business sleeper seat in 2004. As Qantas Creative Director, Marc now oversees all Qantas product development including the interiors of new aircraft, onboard product and lounges. Newson is also Adjunct Professor in Design at Sydney College of the Arts and in 2006 was named Designer of the Year at the prestigious annual Design Miami event.
