You are invited to take part in this one day conference for the unique opportunity to hear from over twenty leading Australian and US policy makers, industry leaders and research experts. Take advantage of this invaluable opportunity to learn how Australia is responding to the critical challenges of reduced rainfall and prolonged drought. Join us in learning more about efforts to mitigate impacts on urban users, agricultural users and finding water for the environment. Presentations and interactive dialogue will create an unprecedented forum for collaboration and exchange of ideas with the aim of finding innovative solutions for water sustainability and management.
Why Australia?
As the driest inhabited continent on earth, Australia has faced a unique and serious water challenge. Climate change has required governments, industry and citizens to quickly respond to sudden and prolonged water shortages. This focus has lead to distinctive approaches, changes in governance, consumer behavioural change and innovations in technology. Australia’s Federal and State Government approach to climate change is considered as amongst the most progressive in the world, and as such a model for other countries facing prolonged drought. Panel discussions will address issues related to water scarcity relevant to Australia and the US and will consider possible methods and policies to respond to these challenges.
