what is g'day usa: australia week?

The objective of G'Day USA: Australia Week is to demonstrate Australia as an innovative, high growth, sophisticated economy, with leading edge research and technology in products, goods and services.

Growing from its inception in 2004, Australia Week is now celebrating its seventh year of success – showcasing all things Australian from trade and investment, innovation, food and wine, film, arts, fashion, lifestyle, indigenous culture and tourism.

This program of events highlights Australia's vitality as a place to visit, and a place to do business in the 21st Century.

Australia Week 2010 will host a diverse range of activities and events, all designed to capture the attention of Americans across the country.

Comprising of 15+ events, the developing 2010 program will be managed and funded by the Australia Week Steering Committee in partnership with private and public sector sponsors.


WHO MANAGES AUSTRALIA WEEK?

Australia week is produced by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Qantas Airways, Tourism Australia and Austrade. The Chairman of the Australia Week  Steering Committee is The Hon. Chris De Cure OAM, Australian Consul-General, Los Angeles.

HOW DO I BECOME A SPONSOR?

Australia Week relies on the commitment of its sponsors to deliver an effective campaign and a successful program. Various levels of sponsorship are available to companies or corporations who view the program as a perfect fit to expand their US and/or Australian reach, target a specific audience, and garner greater publicity and exposure.

I HAVE AN EVENT THAT I WOULD LIKE INCLUDED AS PART OF AUSTRALIA WEEK. HOW do I SUBMIT MY EVENT REQUEST?

The Australia Week Committee offers outside organisations the ability to leverage from Australia Week through 'Satellite Events'. These are events that are self-funded and produced by the organising entity.

Specific criteria must be met to qualify as a Satellite Event. If approved, your event will receive numerous publicity benefits. Please refer to the following application form for further information.
